Zbigniew 'Ziggy' Haczynski

Zbigniew 'Ziggy' Haczynski, 75, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 5, 2015. He was the loving husband of Alicja Haczynski who passed away on February 24, 2014.
Born in Stanisławów, Poland, he was a son of the late Kazimierz and Franciszka Haczynski.

Ziggy grew up and was educated in Poland where he had been a teacher. On August 1, 1964 he married Alicja Sulkowska at St. Catherine's Church in Brodnica, Poland.

After arriving to the United States on June 29, 1965, Ziggy and Alicja settled in Woonsocket, RI. He worked as a machinist for ACS industries and for many years with Crosby Valve & Gauge. Ziggy was heavily involved in the Polish community within Woonsocket and surrounding area for several decades. He had been a member of several organizations including the Polish National Alliance, Polish American Congress and St. Stanislaus Mutual Aid Society.

Ziggy is survived by his son Mark with his wife MaryEllen of North Andover, MA, his daughter, Yolanda and her husband Steven of Cumberland, RI and is the cherished grandfather of four grandchildren. He also leaves behind one sister, Christina Midura with her husband John of Holyoke, MA and brother Henry Haczynski and his wife Charlotte of Gloucester, RI. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held, Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. from the Kubaska Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish, Woonsocket. His final resting place will be at St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Blackstone, MA. Calling hours will be Monday, March 9, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m.
