Yvette M. Zagrodny

Yvette M. (Gaudreau) Zagrodny, 92, passed away Monday, October 12, 2015 at the Friendly Nursing Home surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Stanley S. Zagrodny.
Born in St. Patrice de Beaurivage, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Romeo and Rose-Anna (Montminy) Gaudreau . She was a graduate of the Holy Ghost Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of the Mount St. Charles Mothers' Club, Royal Travelers, and St. Joseph Seniors Club. Yvette was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Landmark Medical Center (Woonsocket Hospital) for over 40 years.
She is survived by her two devoted sons: Richard Zagrodny and his wife Elaine of North Smithfield, RI and Robert Zagrodny and his wife Carol of Lincoln, RI. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Scott Zagrodny of Washington, D.C., Kay Ann Zagrodny of Lincoln, RI, Nicole Turner of Cumberland, RI, and John Marques of Round Rock, TX. She was an adoring great grandmother to Kelsie and Sophia Turner of Cumberland, RI. In addition, she is survived by many nieces and nephews. Originally one of seven children, she is survived by her sisters Rollande Bastien of Lincoln, RI and Murielle Plante of Attleboro, MA and by her brother Paul Gaudreau of Costa Rica. She is predeceased by her sisters Claire L'Hereux, Rosa Parenteau and her brother Gerald Gaudreau.
She was a joy to all she met, as her smile, kindness and warmth filled every room she entered. Her compassion for her patients and family were an inspiration to those she cared for and for those who cared for her at the Friendly Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday,( Oct. 16th) , at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 415 Olo Street, Woonsocket, RI 02895. Yvette will be laid to rest in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, South Bellingham, MA.
Calling hours will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Friendly Nursing Home in memory of Yvette would be greatly appreciated.
