Yvette Marie Mongeon, age 59 of North Smithfield, passed away peacefully on Monday,
June 22, 2020 in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her loving family. Born
April 20, 1961 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, she was the daughter of Elias Samaan and
Barbara Dawson. Yvette graduated salutatorian of Northrop High School, Indiana in 1979. She then served four years in the United States Air Force National Security Division while being served in Germany. Prior to becoming a math teacher at Lincoln
High School, she worked as a waitress at several local restaurants including the popular
Wright’s Farm. Yvette is survived by her devoted husband, Michael Mongeon and her
loving children, Gregory and Samantha. She is also survived by her two brothers,
George Samaan and his wife Renae of California , and Stephen Samaan, of Indiana,; step-children, Lisha Hall and Benjamin Mongeon, her
seven grandchildren, Isaiah, Gabriel, Abigail, Elijah, Anna, Josiah and Talia. as well as her nephew, Keaton Samaan. Her
family, friends, students, coworkers and all those lucky to have known Yvette were
blessed with her unconditional love, generosity, and compassion. She will be forever
missed and always in their hearts. Relatives & Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, (June 27th) at 10:00 A.M. at the Cathedral of Saints Peter & Paul. 1 Cathedral Square, Providence. Burial will be Private. Visitation hours are respectfully omitted. For those attending the Mass ,facial masks & social distancing are required.
