Walter Hrossowyc, 99, a resident of the Holiday Retirement Home, passed
away peacefully on Saturday with his wife by his side. He was the loving husband to Florence A. (Auclair)
Poirier-Hrossowyc of Manville ,and the late Olga (Suptelny) Hrossowyc. Born May 25, 1913 in Woonsocket,
he was the son of the late Michael & Tekla (Romanovich) Hrossowyc, he resided in No. Smithfield & Woonsocket
for many years before residing at the Holiday. Walter was employed in the shipping-receiving dept. for the former
Hanora Lippet & Riverside Industries in Woonsocket before retiring. He was a member & communicant of St. Michael's
Ukrainian Catholic Church in Woonsocket. An avid gardner & golfer, he was a member of the Fullam-Johnson and
Chemawa Senior Golf League. Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Donald & his wife Linda Hrossowyc of
Silvarado, CA. & Kenneth & his wife Lenore Hrossowyc of Cartersville, GA. 3 Stepsons Robert Poirier of Okeechobee, FL
Raymond Poirier of Blackstone, MA. & Ronald Poirier of Blount, TN. 3 Stepdaughters, Doris Woodward of Mapleville, RI,
Pauline Laliberte & Lori Ward both of Woonsocket. 4 Grandchildren & 10 Great Grandchildren. He was the brother of the
late Vincent Hrossowyc, Anna Steele, Catherine Cornacchia, Olga Abramek & Stella Mazzarella, also Stepfather to the late
Roger & Dennis Poirier. His Funeral will be Wednesday at 9:30 A.M. from the Kubaska Funeral Home, 33-35 Harris Ave.
Woonsocket with a Mass of Devine Liturgy at 10:30 A.M. in St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Blackstone St. Woonsocket.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Relatives & Friends are invited. Visitation hours are Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.
