Virginia M. Tyks, 80, of Blackstone, MA.. passed away on Monday at Landmark Medical Ctr. Born, March 5, 1934, in Blackstone, she was the daughter of the late Louis & Marie (Cormier) Tyks. She resided in Blackstone all her life. Virginia was employed as a Policy Writer for the Amica Insurance Co. for 21 years, retiring in 1975. A gifted musician she was the former organist for St. Theresa's Church and St. Paul's Church in Blackstone. Also, she was a pianist at the Wrentham State School. She belonged to the Woonsocket Musicians Local Union 262. She is survived by a daughter, Marie Frances (Tyks) O'Leksy and her husband David of Clarks Summit, PA. , also 3 loving grandchildren, Brandon Louis,A., age 8, Logan Alexander, age 6, & Corbin William, A., age 3, a brother, Charles and his wife Elaine Tyks of Blackstone, MA. She was the sister of the late Lionel & Delmore Tyks. Her Funeral will be Friday, (Oct. 3rd.) at 9:30 A./M. from the Kubaska Funeral Home, 35 Harris Ave. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul's Church, St. Paul St. Blackstone, MA. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Relatives & Friends are invited. A visitation hour will be Friday morning, from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. one hour before the Funeral Mass.
