Virginia M. Tyks

Virginia M. Tyks, 80, of Blackstone, MA.. passed away on Monday at Landmark Medical Ctr. Born, March 5, 1934, in Blackstone, she was the daughter of the late Louis & Marie (Cormier) Tyks. She resided in Blackstone all her life. Virginia was employed as a Policy Writer for the Amica Insurance Co. for 21 years, retiring in 1975. A gifted musician she was the former organist for St. Theresa's Church and St. Paul's Church in Blackstone. Also, she was a pianist at the Wrentham State School. She belonged to the Woonsocket Musicians Local Union 262. She is survived by a daughter, Marie Frances (Tyks) O'Leksy and her husband David of Clarks Summit, PA. , also 3 loving grandchildren, Brandon Louis,A., age 8, Logan Alexander, age 6, & Corbin William, A., age 3, a brother, Charles and his wife Elaine Tyks of Blackstone, MA. She was the sister of the late Lionel & Delmore Tyks. Her Funeral will be Friday, (Oct. 3rd.) at 9:30 A./M. from the Kubaska Funeral Home, 35 Harris Ave. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul's Church, St. Paul St. Blackstone, MA. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Relatives & Friends are invited. A visitation hour will be Friday morning, from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. one hour before the Funeral Mass. Kubaskafuneralhome.com.
