Stephen P. Bator

Stephen P. Bator, 94, of Slatersville, passed away peacefully on Monday at the R.I. Veterans Home in Bristol, he was the loving husband of the late Lillian (Zajchowski) Bator. Born: Dec. 20, 1919, in Clark Mills, NY, he was the son of the late Stanley & Julia (Kantor) Bator. For many years Stephen was employed as a Sales Clerk-Manager for the former Social Dept. Store. He was a communicant , a member of the parish choir and former financial secretary of the Polish National Catholic Church of Our Saviour in Woonsocket. He was a graduate of the former Hill College. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He loved his family, church, country and his neighbors, he will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. He loved playing golf, basketball, was a avid Red Sox & Patriots fan, but most of all , was a Yankee fan, which he always called " His" Yankees. He is survived by a son Stephen J. and his wife Cheryl Bator of Slatersville, a daughter, Marilyn Goktuna of Asbury, NJ. A sister Jessie Miga of Pensacola, FL., 2 grandchildren, Katherine & Mark Goktuna. He was the brother of the late Clara Chisom, Michael & Freddy Bator, also, Edward Bator who served on the Battleship U.S. Arizona and perished on Dec. 7, 1941 and Barney Bator who died in Belgium during WWII. He also leaves several well loved nieces & nephews. His Funeral will be Saturday at 9:00 A.M. from the Kubaska Funeral Home, 35 Harris Ave. with a requiem Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in the Polish National Catholic Church of Our Saviour, 500 Smithfield Rd. Woonsocket , Burial will be in the parish cemetery, Relatives & Friend are invited. Visitation hours are Friday from 5:00 to 8:00. P. M.
