Stasia (Czerkowicz) Klara

Stasia Klara, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, November 6. Stasia was a resident of Woonsocket RI for over eighty years and a parishioner of St. Stanislaus parish.

Stasia was born in Blackstone, MA, on January 6, 1929, daughter of the late George and Bertha Czerkowicz. She considered herself fortunate to have celebrated 65 years of marriage with her late husband, Martin F. Klara. She is survived by her children, Carol and her husband Timothy Kelley of Falls Church VA, Martin G. and his wife Zeneta Klara of Cumberland RI, and Paula Klara of Naples FL. She is also survived by five cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth and Allison Kelley, Martin K. Klara, Kristina Klara and Alexandra Klara Winthrop, and four great grandchildren, Colin MacLusky, Weston and Eloise Randolph and Lily Klara.

She was predeceased by her son, Joseph Klara, along with her siblings, Helen, Leo and Harry Czerkowicz and Evelyn Prochniak.

For many years Stasia was employed at AT&T and Verizon.

Stasia’s warmth, faith and love for family will be remembered always, and her memory will live on in our hearts.  

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Mt. St. Rita Health Center for their kindness and care during these final months. Relatives and Friends are invited to a  Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 am on Monday, November 25th at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 174 Harris Ave, Woonsocket, RI. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
