Sharon Monteiro, 70, of Pascoag RI, passed away peacefully at home on December 15, 2024, after a courageous battle with acute myeloid leukemia. She was surrounded by the love of her family during her final days.
Sharon was survived by her brother Jeffrey Morrissey of Harrisville, RI. Loving daughter, Chelsea Nichols, and husband Jason Nichols of Harrisville, RI. She was the proud grandmother of Madison and Paige Thibodeau, Cooper, Lilah, and Avery Nichols, and the cherished great-grandmother of Carson Richards. Her family brought her immense joy and was the center of her life.
Sharon dedicated many years to her work as a mutual clerk at Lincoln Greyhound Park. Later in life, she worked at Ocean State Job Lot and ultimately retired from Dunkin’ Donuts. Known for her strong work ethic she formed lasting connections with many in her community.
In her free time, Sharon found joy in the simple things: tending to her small garden, spending summer days at the beach with friends and family, pool days at home with her grandchildren and most of all, cooking meals for her beloved family. She also took great pride in giving back to her community by sewing torn flags for the local VFW, a testament to her generous spirit.
An avid fan of Days of Our Lives, Sharon rarely missed an episode over the years. She also adored her cat, Sonny, whose companionship brought her endless comfort and joy.
Sharon will be remembered for her kind heart, unwavering love for her family, and the quiet strength she demonstrated throughout her life. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
