Rye Rivet, 63, of Blackstone, MA died unexpectedly September 25, 2021 at home.
Born to John P. Maloney and Rita V. Maloney, she was a lifelong resident of Blackstone, MA. She is survived by her husband, and caregiver, Gerry Rivet of 39 years; daughters Sarah Rivet and partner Scott Staples of Blackstone, MA, Jennifer Rivet and fiance Jeff Davis of Webster, MA, and Jessica Rivet of Framingham, MA; Her grandchildren Desiree, Mackenzie, and Chassidy Peloquin, only grandson Aiden Hunter, grandpups Booger and Jemma, step grandchildren Madi and Owen Davis, Brittany and Kayla Staples; her sister Mary Ferguson and husband Harry of Milford, MA, brothers Larry Maloney and wife Judy of Blackstone, MA, Peter Maloney of Idaho. She was predeceased by her sister Madonna O’Brien and brother John Maloney. She is also survived by her aunt Patricia Murphy as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Rye was a correctional counselor at MCI Framingham before retiring due to illness. She was also a special education teacher for Woonsocket Middle School as well as a Police Matron for our surrounding towns. She also served as a Constable, and on several boards and committees. She was a graduate of Blackstone Millville High School and Westfield State College with a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, and minor in criminal justice.
She was a devoted catholic who loved her family and always went above and beyond for those she cared for despite her illnesses. She will be most remembered for her strength, generous spirit, pleasant personality, and that unique, one of a kind laugh. She could carry a conversation effortlessly.
We hope you can join us in celebrating her life on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at St. Paul’s Church, 48 St. Paul Street, Blackstone, MA. Family will greet people wishing to pay their respects from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m.
