Rita C. Plante

Bristol- Rita C. (Gagnon) Plante, 74, of Pawtucket Ave., passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 4th, at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of the late Royal Plante until his passing in July 1990. She missed him dearly. She was also the wife of the late Roland Girard.
Born in Manville, she was the daughter of Emile and Elizabeth (Hebert) Gagnon. She lived most of her life in Manville until moving to Bristol in 1993.
Rita worked at A.T. Cross and the Chemart company in Lincoln before retiring. Rita especially enjoyed clamming and quohogging in the bay, fishing, and playing bingo. Rita spent countless hours looking out her window just watching the boats go by. Rita enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Her personality will surely be missed.
Rita is survived by five children; Michael Girard and his fiancé© Karen Roth of Warwick, Scott Plante and his wife Shawna of Pawtucket, Nancy (Plante) Causey and her fiancé© Charles Duarte of Central Falls, Keith Plante and his wife Susan, and Brian Plante and his fiancé© Dannette, of Woonsocket.
Rita also leaves two brothers; Normand Gagnon and his wife Pam of Manville, Roger Gagnon and his wife Ethel of Warwick, and a sister, Therese Dolinski and her husband Michael of Manville.
14 Grandchildren: Ali, TJ, Amir, Rae Lee, Nathaniel, Brianna, Kayla, Trevon, Trey, Dayvon, Selena, Keith, Kevin, and Faith.
4 Great-grandchildren: Sara, Alianna, Skye, and Tye. Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian on Thursday, (Feb. 18th) at 10:00 A.M. in St. James Church, 33 Division St. Manville, RI, burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation hours are Wednesday eve. (Feb. 17th), from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Kubaska Funeral Home, 33 Harris Ave. Woonsocket.
