Phyllis M. (Rutka) Howell, 85, of Early Village, Blackstone went home to be with her lord and saviour on Monday July 23, 2018. Phyllis passed on surrounded by her loving family and friends after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Robert Howell and the daughter of the late Karol and Julia (Kurowski) Rutka. Mrs. Howell worked at A.T. Cross for many years before retiring. She was a great asset to the SHINE Program in Milford, MA helping other seniors. She was an active member of the First Assembly of God Church in Woonsocket and the Uxbridge Senior Center. Phyllis spent many hours at the seashore, was an avid gardener, loved baking and always got a thrill out of finding a treasure at a local yard sale with her family. She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Beebe and her husband Richard of Arroyo Grande, CA, Julie Riendeau and her husband Steve of Harrisville, RI, one son Michael Quesnel of Thompson, CT and her late husbands family. She was also an adoring grandmother to six grandchildren; Traci, Amy, Lynn, Jason, Sarah and Victoria and was so proud of her ten precious great grand children. Phyllis is survived by her sister Flora Paszkewicz and many nices and nephews and predeceased by sisters Stacia Gucfa, Bertha Moon, Julia Vaccaro, and brothers Walter and Francis Rutka. There are no visiting hours. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 29th at River Falls Restaurant in Woonsocket, RI at 5 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be sent to First Assembly of God Church, PO Box 727, Woonsocket, RI 02895.
