Paul L. Beausoleil, of Woonsocket, passed away on Saturday, March 28, at Miriam Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Rachel Sitko Beausoleil for 56 years. Born March 25, 1943, in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Lucien Beausoleil and Rose Aimee Bisson Beausoleil.
In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by his daughter Jennifer Abramek and her husband Gary, of Woonsocket; his son Matthew Beausoleil and his wife Lisa, of Lincoln; his brother Andre Beausoleil; and his brother-in-law Paul Sitko. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Beausoleil and sisters Irene Frigon, Giselle Lachance, and Lucille Jaques. Paul found great joy in his grandchildren Arielle, Sabrina, Austin, and Bradley, whom he proudly supported at sporting events and recitals.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Paul served during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked for Almac’s Supermarket Chain for 37 years as Head Grocery Manager and later for the Woonsocket School Department. He also worked at Gillette Stadium for over 20 years.
Paul was a proud graduate of The Mount St. Charles Academy Class of 1963. He was active in East Woonsocket Little League, served on the board of the Woonsocket North Stars Youth Hockey Organization, and was a member of Cercle Laurier Inc., the Italian Workmen’s Club, and the American French Genealogy Society. A devoted Catholic, he generously gave his time to his church community, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and The Men of St. Joseph’s group.
He enjoyed traveling with his family and, in retirement, fulfilled a lifelong dream by cruising with his wife Rachel and returning to Alaska, where he had been stationed during his military service. Paul also loved sports, bocce, cornhole, birdwatching
Paul will be remembered for his deep faith, love of family, and kindness to others. His Funeral will be on Tuesday , April 7th, at 9:00 AM from the Kubaska Funeral Home, 33-35 Harris Ave. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church ,1200 Mendon Rd. Woonsocket. Relatives and Friends are invited. Visitation hours are Monday, (April 6th) from 4:00 to 7:00PM. Burial with Military Honors will be at St. Jean the Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham, MA.
