Michael Sulima

Michael Sulima, (U.S. NAVY, ret.), 100, of Blackstone, MA., passed away peacefully on Sunday at the home of his daughter in Millville, MA. He was the loving husband of the late Marjory ( Laramee) Sulima. Born May 31, 1915 in Woonsocket he was the son of the late Peter & Pauline (Skwyra) Sulima, he resided in Blackstone all his life. He was Blackstone's first postal letter carrier for the Blackstone Post Office for many years before retiring. Before the Post Office he was employed as a machinist at various Machine Shops, He proudly served his country in the U.S. NAVY, during WWII, attaining the rank of Gunners Mate Senior Chief Petty Officer. Between being a Navy veteran and the Navy Reserves, he completed forty years of Military service. Because of Michael, there are four generations of NAVY veterans in the Sulima family. Michael was a member and very well liked at the Blackstone Senior Citizens Ctr. He is survived by a son. Michael P. and his wife LaDonna Sulima of Landover Hill, MD. Two daughters, Christine and her husband Roger Pelissier of Woonsocket and Carolyn and her husband Charles Bourassa of Millville, MA. 7 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren & 14 Great Great Grandchildren. He was the father of the late John & Paul Sulima and brother to the late John & Walter Solina and Mary Moros. His Funeral will be Monday, Jan. 4th, at 9:00 A.M. from the Kubaska Funeral Home, 35 Harris Ave. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in St. Paul's Church, St. Paul St. Blackstone, MA., burial with Military Honors will be in St. Paul's Cemetery. Visitation hours are Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. The Sulima family would like to thank the staff at the Salmon VNA/Hospice Care of Milford, MA. for their care and support.
