Michael Dowhan

Michael Dowhan, 93, of Woonsocket, passed away peacefully on Thursday at Landmark Medical Ctr., with his loving family at his side. He was the loving husband for 63 years to Theresa M. (Auclair) Dowhan. Born, May 18, 1923, in Polyania, West Ukraine, he was the son of the late Kost & Anna (Hoy) Dowhan, he came to this country in 1950, settling in Michigan, before coming to R.I. Michael was employed as a Machinist/Wireman at the Brown & Sharp Co. for 30 years retiring in 1980. Proud of his Ukrainian Heritage, he was a communicant & member of St. Michaels's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Woonsocket. He enjoyed working with electronics and spending time in his garden. Besides his wife he leaves to sons, Peter Dowhan of West Greenwich, R.I. & Michael J. Dowhan of So. Dartsmouth, MA., also 2 grandchildren. His Funeral will be Tuesday, (June 14th), at 9:00 A.M. from the Kubaska Funeral Home, 35 Harris Ave. with a Mass of Devine Liturgy at 10:00 A.M. in St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 394 Blackstone St, Woonsocket. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Relatives & Friends are invited. Visitation hours are Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
