Mary “Yvonne” Krupa, 97, of Newport, RI, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday, January 1, 2024. She was born in
Woonsocket, RI on Oct. 5, 1926 to the late Albert & Agnes Farland. Yvonne was the beloved
wife of Henry E. Krupa, who preceded her death in 2014. They were a striking couple, met in Narragansett, RI where he was stationed in the US Navy & Yvonne was working for Bell Telephone Co. They were married for 66 years.
Yvonne traveled for 20 years as a US Navy wife and mother of five. Following retirement, they returned to Woonsocket, RI to be closer to family.
Yvonne was employed by the Woonsocket School Department for 23 years as school secretary at Harris Elementary School. She will always be remembered by the children & staff for her joyful nature & positivity that kept everything operating efficiently.
Survivors include her children Phyllis Seeba, Kevin & his wife Judith, Barbara Newcomb, Michael Krupa, Jeffrey & his wife, Katy, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren & her sister-in-law, Genevieve Krupa.
Yvonne was the grandmother of the late Jonathan Krupa, mother-in-law of the late Del Seeba, sister of the late Phyllis Ehrman, and sister-in-law of the late Joseph & Mildred and Ernest & Emily Krupa.
Yvonne was a lady of substance and grace, content in her life being with her family and always put others first. Her laughter will be missed by all who knew her.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 9:30-10:30 AM from the Kubaska Funeral Home, 35 Harris Ave., Woonsocket, RI. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1200 Mendon Rd., Woonsocket, RI at 11AM.
Burial will be at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Blackstone,
MA. Relatives and friends are invited to join the Krupa Family at the River Falls Restaurant following the burial. The address is 74 S. Main St. Woonsocket, RI 02895.
