Martha A. (Orlando) Rossi, formerly of Woonsocket, RI, living the last 4 years of her life
in Blackstone, MA. passed away on Dec. 10, 2011 at the Milford Regional Medical Ctr., surrounded by her family.
She was the loving wife of the late Jerry Rossi. Born Nov. 21, 1917, in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Saverio & Maria (Devita) Orlando. She was the "Matriarch"of the remaining "Orlando Family". She loved her children & grandchildren. She loved everyone she came in contact with. When she resided on Mowry St. in Woonsocket, where she previously lived, she was well known as the best Italian cook. When you went to Martha's house you could never leave without eating something, her kitchen was always open, especially on weekends. She was a avid Red Sox fan.
never missing a game. Her family loved her so much, they would say that she was the glue that kept them together.
Martha worked 29 years in a Worcested Mill, she then worked for her brother, Mike Orlando at Orlando's Market at Park Sq. for 5 years, she also worked for her other brother, John Orlando at Serio's Fish & Chips on Providence St. before retiring at age
85. At Serio's she was the light of the restaurant, people came from all over to see her smiling face. Martha had a loving family and had many friends. She is survived by a son Michael J. Rossi of Cumberland, formerly of Woonsocket, 2 daughters Geraldine (Rossi) Berard & Jean A. (Rossi) LeBlanc both of Blackstone, MA. A sister Ida Allard of Woonsocket and a brother Michael Orlando of Sprata, NJ, 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren & 3 great great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late John, Peter, Serio & Antoinette (Bacon) Orlando. Her Funeral will be Thursday at 9:00 A.M. from the Kubaska Funeral Home, 33 Harris Ave. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in St. Anthony's Church, Greene St. Woonsocket. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Blackstone. Relatives & Frends are invited. Vivtation hours are Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
