Julianna "Julie" Ruiz Obituary

Julianna “Julie” Ruiz, aged 66, joined her family and friends in Heaven on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, surrounded by her family in her home. Julie was born on June 11, 1958, in Reykjavik, Iceland to her mother, Maria (Simak) of Hungary. In 1963, she was brought to the United States with her father, Richard P. Leone. She grew up in Wayland, MA where she met and married the love of her life, David C. Ruiz. They were married in 1981. They shared a beautiful life of love and had 3 children together. Julie spent her life loving others. She loved helping people and having fun. She was the life of the party and she loved to laugh. She could often be found dancing and singing whenever she had the chance. Julie was the best cook. She got a lot of joy from feeding the people that she loved. She was the proud owner of a restaurant on Social Street in Woonsocket along with her business partner and forever friend, Wendy. Julie worked many jobs. She was a teacher, a roofer, a forklift driver, a welder, a lunch lady at Harris Elementary for many years, a beloved employee at Barbara’s Place in Woonsocket on North Main Street, and an active PTA mom during her daughters’ years in elementary school. She loved her co-workers and friends dearly. Julie leaves behind her husband David who was the best husband that a lady could have wished for, her daughter Amanda who she loved more than anything in the world, her daughter Christie and her granddaughters Astrid and Willow who were lucky enough to be blessed with the best grandma ever. Julie was predeceased by her angel baby, Tiffany. Julie also leaves behind the entire Ruiz family, both earth side and in Heaven: Mike, Diane, Peter, Debbie, Tom, Terry, Jonny Paul, Marie, Kathy, Bill, Patty, John, Maria, and Eleanor and Mike Ruiz. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews in both the Ruiz and the Leone family that she loved with all of her heart. You were all her babies, too. She will also be missed by her siblings, both here and those who have passed on, Margie, Judy, Karen, Rick, John, Katherine; and her parents, Maria and Richard Leone. Julie is also predeceased by her best friend, Nancy Bailey. Relatives & Friends are invited to visitation hours on Saturday, August 3, 2024,  at the Kubaska Funeral Home, 35 Harris Ave, Woonsocket from 1:00 to 4:30 P.M., followed by a Prayer Service at 4:30 PM.
