Joseph A. Danko

August 23, 1921
Joseph A. Danko of Bellingham, passed away on Monday at Landmark Med. Ctr. He was the beloved
husband of the late Eleanor (Zienowicz) Danko. He resided in Bellingham for the last 62 years,
Born in Woonsocket on Aug. 23, 1921, son of the late Adam & Sophie (Korabiowski) Danko.
Mr. Danko was a Supervisor in the research/development Dept. for the Cumberland Engineering Co.
retiring in 1986. He previously was a foreman at various other engineering & machine Co's.
A WWII Army veteran he served in the European African Theator attainging the rank of Sergeant.
He was awarded the Bronze star & other medales for his service. He was a member of the VFW Post
2626 in Bellingham, The Bellingham Senior Citizens & a longtime retired member & officer of the
Bellingham Fire & Rescue Dept. . He also served on the Bellingham Firefighters Assc.
He leaves 2 sons: Thomas A. Danko of Harrisville, RI & Robert J. Danko of Woodstock, CT
a daughter Donna M. Bourget of Pascoag, RI 6 Grandchildren & 6 Great Grandchildren.
He was the brother of the late Frances Swiatkowski & Joan Wright.
His Funeral will be Saturday at 8:30 A.M. from the Kubaska Funeral Home, 35 Harris Ave. Woonsocket, RI
with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Blaise Church, 1158 So. Main St. Bellingham, MA.
Burial with Military Honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland, RI. Relatives & Friends are
invited. Visitation hours are Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the:
