Obituary

Jan Joseph Czajkowski, age 72, of Coventry, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022.

Jan is survived by his son John and his daughter-in-law Ji Young.  Additionally, he leaves his sisters Marilyn and Carol, his brother Ed, their respective spouses, six nieces and nephews, and five grandnieces and grandnephews.

Born October 22, 1949, in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Rauckies) Czajkowski.

Jan served in the Air Force from 1968 to 1972 before attending Roger Williams College, graduating with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1982. He earned a Master of Business Administration from Bryant College in 1995 while employed by Electric Boat. Jan worked at Electric Boat in various roles including welder, engineer, and project manager for over forty years until his retirement in 2019. Jan was an avid surfer and could be found most mornings surfing at one of Rhode Island’s many beaches.

Relatives and friends are invited to a wake at Kubaska Funeral home (33 Harris Ave., Woonsocket) on Sunday, July 31 from 5 to 8 PM and Requiem Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, August 1 at 11:00 AM at Our Saviour’s Parish (500 Smithfield Rd., Woonsocket).  Burial will follow at Our Saviour’s Cemetery (Blackstone, MA).

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in his memory to the One Last Wave Project.
