Helen (Fursenko) Trenkler, 94, of North Providence, passed away peacefully on Thursday at her residence. She was the loving wife of the late George Trenkler. Born, Oct. 11, 1923, in Sumy, Ukraine, she was the daughter of the late Ivan & Valentina (Lalina) Fursenko. Helen was a foreman for the Hasbro Toy Co. in Pawtucket retiring in 1978. She was a member and active at St. Michael’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Woonsocket in which she taught parishioners, young & old the Ukrainian language. Her love for singing, she was a former member of the St. Michael’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church Choir and also sang for the German Choir at the German Hall in Pawtucket. She was also a gifted painter taking great pride in her paintings. She is survived by her daughter Helen Ready of No. Scituate, RI, 2 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren. Her Funeral will be Tuesday, (Sept. 4th) at 9:30A.M. from the Kubaska Funeral Home, 33 Harris Ave. Woonsocket with a Funeral Service at 11:00A.M. in St. Michael’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 74 Harris Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will be in St. John’s Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery in Cumberland. Relatives & Friends are invited. A visitation hour will be Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. before the Funeral Mass.
