Guy Wheaton

Guy “Gus” Wheaton III, 75, passed peacefully at home on December 22, 2023, in Forestdale, Rhode Island. Guy was born on August 25, 1948, in Providence. He was the son of the late Guy Wheaton and Margret Nicholas of Woonsocket.

He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Donna (DeFusco) Wheaton, his two sons, Guy (Gig) Wheaton, wife Deborah Wheaton of Franklin, MA and Benjamin Wheaton, wife Jessica Wheaton of Cumberland, RI. He was the loving grandfather of three grandchildren, Aiden Wheaton, Conor Wheaton, and Taylor Camara. He was predeceased by his brother, Gary Wheaton.

He graduated from Woonsocket High School in 1966 and started his career hauling freight all over the country for D&N Transportation, becoming a member of the Local 251 Teamsters Union. He worked for over 30 years and retired in 2003.

Guy loved being on the road, telling stories, and the simple things in life. You could find him during the summer sitting by the pool with his favorite beverage, listening to his favorite songs. Guy was most proud of his family and was happiest seeing everyone together at the house. He was a friend to all, shared the gift of gab, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

His Funeral will be on Saturday, (Jan, 6th, 2024) at 10:00 A.M. from the Kubaska Funeral Home, 33 Harris Ave. Woonsocket with a prayer service at 10:30A.M.  in the funeral home, Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Slatersville, RI. Relatives & friends are invited. Visitation hours will be on Friday, (Jan. 5th, 2024) from 5:30 to 7:30 P.M. in the funeral home.
