Gilbert A. Taschereau, 96, of Pascoag, RI, passed away peacefully at Hope Hospice Care in Providence on Friday, (July) 14th) with his family by his side. He was the former husband to the late Marguerite (Courtemanche) Taschereau. Born July 6, 1927 in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Armand & Cora (Tardie) Taschereau.
Gilbert was employed as a machinist for the Worcester Textile Co. before retiring. He proudly served his country in the U. S. NAVY during WWII. He enjoyed dancing, traveling, loved to cook and bake, going out to various restaurants and maintaining old vehicles. He was a longtime and active member of the Millville Senior Citizens.
He is survived by 3 sons, Gerald of Albion, RI, Donald and his wife Lois of Cross Hill, SC. And Denis of Pascoag, RI, also 2 daughters Brenda Gibeau and Lynn Clark both of Pascoag, RI. He also leaves a brother Bertrand of Oakland, RI, 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. He was the brother to the late Roger Taschereau. His Funeral and Burial will be private.
