Everett Earle Crisman, 86, of Woonsocket, RI passed away peacefully on the morning of June 2nd at HopeHealth Pallative Care Center in Providence, Rhode Island. He was the loving husband of Sharon Knettell. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Earle Crisman and Fleta Berkheimer. He resided in Woonsocket, Rhode Island for the last 38 years.
He graduated with a B.S. in Physics from Carnegie Mellon University in 1959 and went on to receive his M. Sc. in Engineering in 1974 and a Ph. D. in Engineering in 1984, both from Brown University. Everett worked for Westinghouse in Pittsburgh for 8 years, was a Visiting Scientist at the Airforce Research Laboratory on Hanscom AFB in MA, was a Research Professor at University of Rhode Island from 1998 until 2012 when he obtained Emeritus, and continued as a Research Affiliate until 2020. He was an 8th degree black belt, studying under the late Master Charles Earle and was a Sensei of Uechi-Ryu Karate School of Rhode Island. He obtained his Pilot’s license in 1979 and continued flying for almost 4 decades.
Everett is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Knettell, his sister, Nancy Crisman Eisele, his nephew, Jeffrey Eisele, and niece, Jane Eisele Mills. He also has 5 great-nieces and nephews that will miss him dearly. Memories of Everett will be forever cherished, and his stories will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
