Anna Makar Anna (Kostyk) Makar, 93, of Blackstone, MA. died Sunday, July 14, 2013
at the Holiday Retirememt Home in Manviile, RI., Born in the Ukraine, Anna was the wife of the late
Stefan Makar with whom she immigrated to the United States in 1949. She worked for many years
as an Assembler at Coby Glass in Woonsocket, RI, before retiring in 1963.Anna was a member of
St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church for several decades, and a member of the church's Sodality of Our Lady association. She also enjoyed gardening, cross-stitching and cooking Ukrainian food
for her family & friends. Anna is survived by two children, Maria S. Scarano of North Smithfield ,RI and Josef A. Makar and his wife Susan of Blackstone, MA. She was the mother of the late Walter Makar
of Port Charlotte, Florida. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Joseph Makar of Blackstone, MA.,
Deanna Koproski of Brooklyn CT.,Deborah Scarano of New York, NY, Sandra Crombie of Saugus, MA.,Jennifer Scarano of Falmouth, MA., Julie Tetreault of Blackstone, MA and David Makar of
Ithaca, NY, and 5 great grandchildren. Her Funeral will be Wednesday at 9:00 A.M. from the
Kubaska Funeral Home, 35 Harris Ave. Woonsocket with a Mass of Devine Liturgy at 10:00 A.M.
in St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church , 394 Blackstone St. Woonsocket, burial will be in the
parish cemetery. Relatives & Friends are invited. Visitation hour will be Tuesday, July 16th, from
4:00 to 6:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Anna Makar's memory may be made to St.
Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 394 Blackstone St. Woonsocket, RI, 02895
