Alicja Haczynski
February 24, 2014Alicja grew up and was educated in Poland. She had been a bookkeeper and worked as an inspector within the food industry before moving to the United States.
On August 1, 1964 she married Zbigniew Haczynski at St. Catherine's Church in Brodnica, Poland. They would have been married 50-years this year.
After arriving to the United States on June 29, 1965, she and Ziggy settled in Woonsocket, RI. She worked for a variety of manufacturing companies prior to retiring in 2007.
Alicja has always been active within the St. Stanislaus Church community. Along with being a Lecturer for the Polish mass, she was an active member of the Holy Rosary Society and volunteered at many church events. She found inner peace and joy by becoming a member of the Discaled Carmelites of Barrington, RI.
Besides her husband Zbigniew, Alicja is survived by her daughter, Yolanda and her husband Steven of Cumberland, son Mark with his wife MaryEllen of North Andover, MA, and is the cherished grandmother of four grandchildren. She also leaves behind one sister, Irena Wojciak of Brodnica, Poland, and was predeceased by her brother, Zbigniew Sulkowski who passed away in August 2012.
Her funeral will be held, Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. from the Kubaska Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish, Woonsocket. Her final resting place will be at St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Blackstone, MA. Calling hours will be Friday, February 28, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m.
Relatives & Friends are invited. The Holy Rosary Society from St. Stanislaus Kostka Church will lead the rosary at approximately 7:30 p.m.
