Alfred Puccetti Obituary

Alfred S. Puccetti, 88, of North Smithfield, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024, surrounded by his family. Born on March 20, 1936, in Plymouth, NH. He was the son of the late Alfredo and Dorothy (Dickelmier) Puccetti. Al lived a life filled with dedication and a deep sense of community.

A graduate of the University of New Hampshire, Al continued his studies at Babson College, Bentley College and later at Bryant College, where he earned advanced degrees in accounting and finance.

A long-time resident of North Smithfield, Al proudly served in the U.S. Army, carrying the values of discipline and service throughout his life. He enjoyed a successful career in finance, most notably with ACS Industries, and found excitement in trading on the New York Stock Exchange. Al had a sharp intellect and a strong work ethic.

Al was deeply committed to his community, serving on the North Smithfield Budget Committee and the Planning Board. He took great pride in contributing to the growth and well-being of the town.

An avid tennis player, Al also had a great love for the outdoors, especially tending to his garden and maintaining his property. His appreciation for beauty extended to his passion for classical music and opera, which brought him much joy. Saturdays were special to Al, as he cherished his weekly breakfast gatherings with friends, where there was good food and lively conversation.

Al was predeceased by his loving wife, Mary Lydia (Allman) Puccetti. He is survived by his children: Steven Puccetti and his wife Ellen of North Smithfield, Jennifer Puccetti of Boston, MA, Sara Hilyard and her husband Mark of Portsmouth, and Christopher Puccetti and his wife Stacie of North Smithfield. He was the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren: Rachel Brong and her husband Jared of Embden, Maine, Andrew Puccetti of Cumberland, Cathryn Kennedy and her husband Brendan of North Smithfield, Caleb Hilyard of East Providence, Nathan Hilyard of Portsmouth, Jack Puccetti and Calla Puccetti of North Smithfield; and his cherished great-grandchildren: Lydia, Jude, Flora, and Piper. Additionally, he is survived by his sister, Gail Ogden, and her husband Richard of Ashland, NH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 63 Church Street, Slatersville. The family will greet friends starting at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Be advised, please use the side entrance of the church on the left side near the parking lot.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the MacColl YMCA Lincoln (https://ymcapawtucket.org/donate), or, in keeping with Al’s love for Saturday morning breakfasts with friends, simply take a friend out for breakfast to honor his memory.
