Piotr Baryluk, 83, of Woonsocket passed away suddenly at his home December 20, 2018. He was born in Poland to the late Jan Baryluk Sr. and his late wife Maria (Turecki) Baryluk He was preceded in death by Helena (Zurawicki) Baryluk, his beloved wife of 50 years and his brother Jan Baryluk Jr. He is survived by his son, Christopher, of Franklin, MA, his wife Sharon, son Gregory, of Columbus, OH, his wife Jennifer, grandchildren Ryan, Lindsey, Sarah, Matthew, Jonathan, Carolyn, Clare and Eliana, sister in law Eva, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Baryluk was born in Poland on October 17th, 1935 and at a very young age experienced war and occupation. In late 1950s Poland, he became an educator, teaching young children, and married Helena. His grandparents came to the US in the early 1920s, while his father Jan remained in Poland. His grandparents eventually had two more sons in the United States who became instrumental in Piotr and his family’s immigration in 1963. He embarked on a new career as a machinist and in 2000, he retired from H and H Screw in Lincoln, RI as a supervisor.
He was very devoted to his family and loved his grandchildren tremendously often doting on them at every opportunity, He was an active member of the Polish National Alliance and Dom Polski. He was a history and geography buff, enjoyed travelling and loved to collect coins and stamps from different places around the world.
Calling hours are 8:30 to 10:00 am on Saturday, December 29, at the Kubaska Funeral Home, 33 Harris Avenue, Woonsocket. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 am at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 188 Harris Avenue, Woonsocket. Burial to follow at the parish cemetery, Farm Sreet, Blackstone, MA.
