Joseph N. “Leo” St. Onge, 89, of North Smithfield, passed away peacefully on August 22nd, at the St. Antoine Residence. He was the loving husband of Louise F. (Zajas) St. Onge. Born August 1, 1929 in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late William & Irene (Purusse) St. Onge. Leo was employed as a Assistant Traffic Manager for various Dye Work Co’s in the Blackstone Valley area, retiring in 1992. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post #85. His favorite hobbies included, sports, trout fishing, playing cribbage & solitaire. Leo and Louise loved camping, spending vacations along the east coast from Miami to So. Carolina. In 1988 they became summer residents at the Holly Tree Campground in So. County. He attended MT. ST. Charles Academy. Besides his wife he leaves a sister, Lorraine Bachand of Abscone, NJ and several nieces & nephews He was predeceased by his brother Rene St. Onge. Relatives & Friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Friday, (Sept. 7th), at 11:00 A.M. in the Kubaska Funeral Home, 35 Harris Ave. Woonsocket, burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Cumberland. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN., 38105.
