Gertrude C. Sitko

Gertrude C. Sitko, 93, of  Woonsocket , passed away on November 25th at the Woonsocket Health and Rehabilitation Centre, with her family by her side.  She was the wife of the late Joseph J. Sitko Jr. Born June 15, 1924 in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Gerard and Emelia (Lamothe) Ledoux, and she resided in Woonsocket all her life.

Mrs. Sitko worked in the Housekeeping department at the Woonsocket Health and Rehabilitation Centre for 15 years before retiring. Prior to that, she worked at the Miller Electric and the Bonin Spinning companies in Woonsocket.

Gertrude loved cooking and spending time with her family, and she will be greatly missed by her children and grandchildren. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church.

She leaves one son, Paul J. Sitko of Blackstone, MA, one daughter, Rachel J. and her husband Paul  Beausoleil of Woonsocket, two Grandchildren, and four Great Grandchildren.

She was the beloved mother of the late Michael J. Sitko and sister to the late Georgette Berthiaume and Jeanne Savini.

Her funeral will be Thursday, (Nov. 30th),  at 9:30 A.M.  from the Kubaska Funeral Home, 35 Harris Avenue, with a Mass of Christian Burial at  10:30 A.M.  at St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Road, Woonsocket. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Blackstone, MA. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation hours are Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.  Kubaskafuneralhome.com.
