Adam E Zajas

Adam E. Zajas, 82, of Lincoln passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 17, 2017 at Hope Hospice and Palliative Care, Providence. He was surrounded by his loving family who shared music, laughter and precious priceless memories. He was the husband of Elaine M. (Godin) Zajas, his adored and cherished wife of 62 years. 

Born in Woonsocket, he proudly served in the United States Air Force before working as a Produce Manager for Almacs Supermarket for 38 years. He was also employed by the City of Woonsocket in the Highway Department for several years before retiring.

Besides his beloved wife Elaine, he is survived by his three children that he selflessly devoted his life to: Steven Zajas of Fort Myers FL, Brian Zajas of Pascoag and Cheryl Carroll of Glocester. He is also survived by his grandson and namesake Adam Carroll, his granddaughter Lia M J Zajas, sister Louise St. Onge of No. Smithfield, brothers Edward Zajas and the late Frank Zajas of Blackstone MA, and several nieces and nephews.

In his younger days, Adam was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed fishing, hunting, skeet shooting and scuba diving. In retirement he was a passionate participant in the Woonsocket Senior Men’s Softball League.   Relatives & Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, May 26th at 11:00 A.M. at Precious Blood Church, 94 Carrington Ave, Woonsocket. Burial will be private and calling hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care RI, 1085 N Main St, Providence, RI 02904, would be greatly appreciated
