Michael Makar

Michael Makar, 83, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully on Oct. 22nd, at his home, with his family at his side. He was the loving husband to Pauline (Rabeck) Makar.  Born Aug. 20, 1934 in the Ukraine, he was the son of the late Peter & Pelagija (Syniuga) Makar, he arrived in this country in 1950. Michael was employed as a Heavy Equipment  Operator for various construction  firms before retiring. Besides his wife he leaves 2 sons, Michael and his companion Laura, Makar of Canterbury, CT. and Marc and his wife Kelli, Makar of Preston, Ct. His Funeral will be Thursday, Nov. 2nd, at 9:00 A.M. from the Kubaska Funeral Home, 35 Harris Ave. Woonsocket with a Mass of Divine Liturgy at 10:00 A.M. in St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 394 Blackstone St. Woonsocket, Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Relatives & Friends are invited. Visitation hours are Wednesday, Nov. 1st, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 394 Blackstone St, Woonsocket, RI, 02895.
