Michael D. Dunayeski, 76, of Cumberland, died peacefully on April 15th in his home surrounded by family after battling esophageal cancer. He was the son of the late Catherine (Rybak) and Daniel Dunayeski.
He was the half brother of the late Barbara Flynn of Manville. He is survived by his brother Thomas Dunayeski and his wife Barbara of Blackstone, and his sister Stephanie Rafuse and her husband William of Maine.
He was the longtime companion of the late Elaine Dodge and is survived by her son William Bradford Dodge and his wife Cynthia and her children.
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
He worked with his brother at State Line Equipment, drove a truck for Edward Golden, played lead guitar in a local band and joined the Air Force.
Michael, also known as “Ski” on AM talk radio, enjoyed the outdoors. He could usually be found under his apple tree enjoying a cold one. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, NASCAR and was a Patriots fan. When asked how he was, he would say “half left” instead of “alright” and he would sing “on the road again” when departing. His Funeral will be Friday at 9:00 A.M. from the Kubaska Funeral Home , 33 Harris Ave. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Devine Liturgy at 10:00 A.M. in St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 394 Blackstone St. Woonsocket. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Relatives & Friends are invited. Visitation hours are Thursday, (April 19th) from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M..
