Florence A. Poirier-Hrossowyc

Florence A. (Auclair) Poirier-Hrossowyc, 101, formerly of Woonsocket & No. Smithfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday at the Holiday in Manville, surrounded by her loving children. She was the wife of the late Walter Hrossowyc and the late Armand Poirier who died in 1978. Born in Blackstone, MA., she was the daughter of the late Omer & Phoebe (Garneau) Auclair. Before residing at the Holiday, she was a resident of Cumberland for 40 years before moving to North Smithfield for 25 years and then to Woonsocket . Florence was a homemaker for many years dedicating her life to her eight children, she worked briefly for the Cumberland School System and Mercy Hospital. She enjoyed cooking & gardening. She is survived by three sons, Robert Poirier & his wife Anita of Okeechobee, FL., Raymond Poirier & his wife Ruth of Blackstone, MA., Ronald Poirier & his wife Kay of Kingsport , TN., three daughters, Doris Woodward of No. Smithfield, RI., Pauline Laliberte & her husband Dennis of Cumberland, RI., Lori Ward & her husband Bob of Woonsocket, RI., also two stepsons Kenneth Hrossowyc of GA. & Donald Hrossowyc of CA. She leaves 17 Grandchildren & 13 Great Grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Roger & Dennis Poirier and sister to the late Alice Bonner, Irene Bouree, Henry, Edward & Frederic Auclair. Her Funeral will be Thursday, (Nov. 3rd) , at 9:00 A.M. from the Kubaska Funeral Home 33 Harris Ave. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Park Ave. Woonsocket, Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Bellingham, MA. Relatives & Friends are invited. Visitation hours are Wednesday, (Nov. 2nd) from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
