It will be sad around here without him. The kids, Colin and I were blessed to have him for a neighbor for so long. We have so many great memories to carry with us. Dennis A. DeBacker May 11 2013 Gary was a great friend and listener to whom I could talk to anytime and talk about just about anything. He always had time for me whenever I was in Rhode Island so that we could have dinner and just talk for hours. I will miss him. He was my GFF. My sympathies to the entire Wheaton Family.

Heather Huebner, Windsor Locks, CT May 22 2013 I knew Gary through a family friend, Bob O'Connor, who was the Chief Boiler Inspector of Connecticut. I am friends with Bob's daughter, Christine. We went out on Gary's boat several times many years ago and would meet him in Newport for dinner. Those were very fun times for us all! I last saw Gary at Bob's funeral about 5 years ago... Gary looked great and we had a wonderful conversation catching up on 20+ years! My sympathies to all of Gary's family.

helen beaudoin June 07 2013 gary was and still is a very very smart man. he is also kind, considerateand did follow his heart that of the path of rightousness. always a loyaal friend. he is so dignified and never did despair, stoic, stubborn.i will always love him and there is so much more i could say good about him. though i feel he may have had an ambivalence toward me, i have to know he loves me and i him. he is my soldier boy, my first love and will be my last love.

June 27 2013 Gary was a great friend of my dads. We enjoyed his sense of humor and fun personality. Very sorry for your loss.
